Report: Kroger adding 2,000 jobs across Michigan

DETROIT — According to a report published Monday in the Detroit Free Press, Kroger will create as many as 2,000 jobs throughout Michigan as the national grocer continues to grow marketshare across its core markets, even as the chain seeks a Southeastern foothold with the acquisition of Harris Teeter announced yesterday. 

“This is part of a major initiative that shows how the face of Kroger in Michigan is changing,” Dale Hollandsworth, a Kroger spokesman, told the Press. “We’ve got to be prepared for the future.”

According to the report, Kroger is looking to expand its selling square feet in order to better compete with such large competitors as Walmart. 

Nationally, Kroger plans to build, expand or relocate 45 to 50 supermarkets this year, compared with 44 in 2012.

The 16-year-old joins a lineup of successful and inspiring global beauties like P!NK, Sofia Vergara, Queen Latifah and Ellen DeGeneres.

In the months ahead, she will debut many looks from the brand’s new collection, including ones featuring the fired-up, volumizing CoverGirl Flamed Out Mascara. Rocking the mic, her lips and nails will be in the spotlight showcasing CoverGirl Lipslicks Smoochies Lip Balm; and CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Glosstinis, which are mini versions of Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in tropical, glossy colors perfect for summer.

In addition to appearing in national TV and print advertising for the brand, CoverGirl fans will get to know her via original content on the brand’s social properties like YouTube, which will give a glimpse into her life as a CoverGirl and rise to stardom.

Palmer’s to debut in India.Arie’s ‘Cocoa Butter’ music video

NEW YORK — Palmer’s has partnered with R&B songstress India.Arie in the creation of Arie’s “Cocoa Butter” music video.

The first single from Arie’s upcoming “Songversation” album, “Cocoa Butter” represents the perfect synergy for Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula products and Palmer’s will appear in the video. The two plan to continue making music together on Arie’s upcoming tour, the manufacturer stated.
