Reed’s enters ‘sweet’ distribution agreement

LOS ANGELES Soda maker Reed’s has reached a distribution agreement with a direct store distributor in the San Francisco Bay area.

Golden Sweet immediately will begin carrying the full line of Reed’s and Virgil’s branded products, including Reed’s Candy and Sonoma Sparklers for direct store delivery.

“Golden Sweet Company is fast-growing provider of upscale natural premium branded and gourmet items to major chain super stores, independent grocery stores, natural grocery markets, and super produce markets,” noted Chris Reed, founder, chairman and CEO of Reed’s. “Reed’s line of unique, top selling natural sodas and ginger candies is a perfect fit for Golden Sweet Company’s gourmet and natural product offerings, and gives us the opportunity to expand into the greater San Francisco Bay area. The greater San Francisco Bay Area is an extremely important market to develop for our brands. This marketplace is, without a doubt, our Sweet Spot.”

Catalina Marketing acquires E-centives, Collabrys

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. Catalina Marketing has expanded its business with the acquisition of two digital couponing businesses.

The company said it acquired E-centives and Collabrys from Invenda Corp., calling the investment “strategic…to advancing long-term, viable digital innovations for our industry partners, as well as our commitment to shoppers who seek customized value delivered through their preferred channel of communication.”

Catalina Marketing’s acquisition announcement follows the company’s release of CPG mobile couponing performance data, as well as the recent appointment of former Google Affiliate Network executive, Chris Henger, to lead its digital business.

Bartell Drugs to carry UnderWay beverages

BOCA RATON, Fla. Better Health Beverage’s appetite-suppressing line now is available at Bartell Drugs stores.

UnderWay, available in acai-pomegranate and orange, is an appetite-suppressant supplement drink designed to curb hunger and improve one’s fiber health. In line with the product rollout in 57 Bartell stores, a television media campaign is running to promote the beverages and the stores they are sold in.

Recently, UnderWay products were made available at 741 Publix stores.
