Predictive analytics’ role in health care

AUDIO Q&A: With the number of loyalty cards collecting reams of consumer data these days, the ability to crunch that data into meaningful insights will become more valuable. DSN caught up with Dave Dimas — program director of engineering, sciences and information technology at the University of California, Irvine Extension — to discuss the role predictive analytics can play in health care, as well as a new certificate program on how to best translate that consumer data into action plans.

National Confectioners Association names Jelly Belly executive as board chairman

WASHINGTON — Jelly Belly president and COO Bob Simpson will take over the National Confectioners Association’s executive board as chairman.

NCA’s publication, Candy & Snack Today said Simpson replaces Mitchell Goetze as the chairman of the executive board. Blommer Chocolate Co. president Peter Blommer was appointed to serve as vice chairman, and Goetze, who is president and COO of Goetze’s Candy Co., becomes ex-officio chairman.

PR firm RedLetter signed to promote the Zim’s brand of skin and lip care products
