Poise taps Kris Jenner for campaign

NEW YORK — The Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner has signed on to be part of Poise’s “Great Women in History” series, launched last year, to highlight the fact that many great women throughout history have had to contend with light bladder leakage, Poise manufacturer Kimberly-Clark announced Thursday.

“Like millions of women, I have my own experiences with LBL, but I’ve never let it keep me from living life to the fullest,” Jenner stated. “Inspired by the impact that last year’s ‘Great Women in History’ series had on women with LBL, I’ve teamed up with the Poise brand to help women understand that LBL is common and manageable, so it shouldn’t stop them from doing great things and being the incredible and accomplished women they are.”

In honor of Women’s History Month in March, Jenner portrayed Rosie the Riveter, an American cultural icon, representing millions of women who also may have dealt with LBL but didn’t let that hold them back from doing great things.

The call to action will draw women to the website 1in3LikeMe.com to write a caption for Jenner’s photograph relaying the LBL story from Rosie the Riveter’s perspective. Each visitor who submits a caption automatically will be entered for a chance to win a trip to a destination featured in the “Great Women in History” series and to have her LBL tagline featured with the photo on MyDaily.com/1in3.

Poise will donate $1 for every woman who participates in the campaign to Women’s Health Foundation, an organization committed to championing women’s pelvic health issues.

“By introducing Kris as Rosie the Riveter, we are adding fuel to the national conversation we ignited last year,” stated Amy Schubin, brand manager for Poise. “We are committed to arming women with LBL with the knowledge that they are not alone and that the Poise brand offers protection to help them be themselves.”

Report: Mutchler to lead McNeil

NEW YORK — Johnson & Johnson on April 4 will install Pat Mutchler as head of the McNeil Consumer Healthcare unit, according to a Wednesday evening Associated Press report.

According to the report, Johnson & Johnson said the changes will allow the company to "give focused attention to quality and compliance, and the critical task of restoring McNeil Consumer Healthcare brands."

McNeil has had to announce some 20 recalls of iconic brands, including Tylenol, Motrin, Benadryl and Rolaids, since September 2009. J&J reported Mutchler will be in charge of the McNeil business. He also will lead other divisions, including McNeil Nutritionals, Wellness & Prevention and the company’s joint venture with Merck.

The global consumer businesses will be organized by region — North America, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and Europe/Middle East/Africa. The AP reported that Grace Castano will lead J&J’s Asia-Pacific business, Jose Justino will lead the Europe/Middle East/Africa unit, Roberto Marques will be chairman for North America and Susan Rivetti will be in charge of the Latin America division.

Prestige Brands introduces new allergy product

IRVINGTON, N.Y. — Prestige Brands on Wednesday announced the launch of a new one-dose-per-day allergy medicine: PediaCare 24-Hour Allergy.

"We listened to what the moms were looking for: a safe and effective allergy product for their children, ages 2 years and up, that works, has only one dose per day and tastes good," stated Sherry Polevoy, PediaCare senior brand manager. "Parents don’t have to worry about redosing during the day, it’s dye-free and it’s a flavor that kids love: grape."

In addition to the extensive product line offerings, PediaCare also has developed a new comprehensive website at Pediacare.com, which features a symptom-checker/product-selector that helps guide parents to select the PediaCare product that best addresses the symptoms their child is experiencing. The new PediaCare website also has the PediaCare Shopper’s Guide iPhone application, which can be downloaded for free.

Specially formulated for children, PediaCare 24-Hour Allergy contains the second-generation antihistamine cetirizine hydrochloride, the active ingredient in McNeil’s Zyrtec.
