P&G announces changes to its board of directors

CINCINNATI — Procter & Gamble has announced that current P&G director Johnathan Rodgers has decided not to seek re-election at P&G’s annual shareholder meeting in October 2013, choosing to retire from the board at that time.

The company also announced the appointment of Terry Lundgren, chairman, president and CEO of Macy’s to its board, effective immediately.

Rodgers, who is a member of the Governance & Public Responsibility and Innovation & Technology committees of the board, has been a director since 2001. He is a former broadcast and cable television executive.

Lundgren will serve on the Governance & Public Responsibility and the Innovation & Technology committees of the P&G board.

Lundgren has been chairman, president and CEO of Macy’s since 2004. Macy’s, which has more than 840 retail sites across the United States, was acquired by Federated Department Stores in 1994 and Federated assumed the Macy’s name in 2007.

Lundgren joined Federated in 1975 and became president of its Bullock Wilshire operation in 1987. He was next appointed chairman and CEO of Neiman Marcus in 1988 and six years later returned to Federated as chairman and CEO of its merchandising group. He was promoted to president and CMO in 1997. He became COO in 2002 and CEO the following year. He was a member of the Federated board of directors from 1997 and appointed chairman in 2004.

A box of eight sheets retails for $19.99.

P&G launches new Vidal Sassoon Pro Series color, care and styling line

CINCINNATI — P&G Beauty & Grooming is launching the new Vidal Sassoon Pro Series line of hair color, care and styling products.

The Vidal Sassoon Pro Series, which is comprised of five care and styling collections and at-home color kits, is available beginning this month at a suggested retail price of $2.49 to $8.99 at mass retailers nationwide.

“We wanted to bring Vidal Sassoon’s legacy to life for a new generation with the Pro Series line,” stated Walter Geiger, P&G’s VP and GM of North America Hair Care and Color. “Building on Vidal Sassoon’s unique vision that democratized beauty for all, we created a line of salon-inspired products that are affordable, accessible and inspire women to become the master of their own hair.”

Based on hair care needs, the line offers five care and styling sub-collections, plus one styling and finishing collection. Vidal Sassoon Pro Series new permanent color kit promises to deliver long-lasting, affordable color in the convenience of your home. The exclusive VS PrecisionMix formula is mixed to calibrate the right blend of pigments and the result is precise color with 100% grey coverage. The VS HydraBlock Color Preserving Conditioner coats each strand to help prevent fade out and keep the color vibrant. The color collection is available in 18 permanent color shades that provide 100% grey coverage, the company stated.
