PepsiCo targets teen market with fruit-flavored Aquafina sparkling water, flavorings

PURCHASE, N.Y. — PepsiCo division Aquafina is launching a new line of sparkling water beverages and flavorings in an effort to target teenagers, the company said.

Aquafina said the zero-calorie products would meet teenagers’ desire for refreshing beverages and parents’ need for healthy products for their families.

"In looking at the beverage landscape, we realized there weren’t a lot of better-for-you options designed for and by teens," Aquafina senior director Rebecca Granne said. "With our new Aquafina FlavorSplash products, we hope to inspire creativity and bring out the individuality of consumers all across the country by encouraging them to mix and match the products to customize their own flavors and have fun while doing it."

The water flavorings include So Strawberry, World Peach, Berry On, while the sparkling water beverages include Color Me Kiwi, orange-flavored Peelin’ Good and Berry Loco.

Mars announces candies for fall, Halloween

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. — A new line of candies from Mars Chocolate North America includes several flavors to coincide with Halloween.

The candy maker announced the release of its latest line, which includes Snickers peanut butter pumpkin-based singles, as well as jack-o-lantern-shaped Snickers-brand pumpkin, available in two packs. The company is also releasing a new large variety bag of Snickers Fun Size canned, available in Snickers Original, Almond and Peanut Butter Squared bars.

The M&M’s brand includes candy corn white chocolate candies, available in large bags as well as single-serve bags and suitable for eating as well as decorating and baking.

The company also is highlighting its Twix, 3 Musketeers, Milky Way and Snickers brands, now available in boxes of 18 bars.

Angry Orchard debuts seasonal cider for the holidays

BOSTON — Boston Beer’s Angry Orchard Cider Co., the top-selling cider company in the United States, according to IRI data, has introduced a new innovative fall and winter seasonal cider — Angry Orchard Cinnful Apple. Cinnful Apple, a limited-edition release, is Angry Orchard’s first cider made with American culinary apples.

The cider makers at Angry Orchard used apples from Washington state and cinnamon to make a cider with a spicy flavor profile that pairs well with holiday drinking occasions and a variety of foods.

Cinnful Apple is available in six packs for a suggested retail price of  $7.99 to $9.99, and in variety 12-packs with three other Angry Orchard styles — Crisp Apple, Traditional Dry and Apple Ginger — for a SRP of $14.99 to $17.99.
