Passage to China introduces new cooking sauces
COLLINSVILLE, Conn. — Passage Foods has expanded its Passage to China cooking sauces line with two new flavors.
The Passage to China lineup now includes black bean stir-fry and honey, soy and garlic sauces. The sauces are all-natural, gluten-free, preservative-free recipes that contain fresh, natural ingredients and can be paired with both meat and vegetables, the company said.
Passage Foods also produces such cooking sauces as Passage to Indian, Passage to Thailand and Passage to Morocco.
Baskin-Robbins takes a bite out of mini desserts with new line
CANTON, Mass. — Baskin-Robbins on Friday announced the launch of Cake Bites, a new bite-sized line of mini desserts that combine ice cream and cake in a single serving.
Cake Bites are available at Baskin-Robbins throughout the country for $2.99 individually or $9.99 for a mix-n-match 4-pack, in four flavors, including:
- Double Chocolate — Chocolate ice cream over chocolate cake, enrobed with chocolate ganache coating, finished with chocolate accent;
- Praline Caramel — Pralines ‘n Cream ice cream over white cake enrobed with white chocolate ganache coating, finished with caramel drizzle and chopped pralines;
- Chocolate Mint — Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream over chocolate cake, enrobed with chocolate ganache coating, finished with white chocolate drizzle; and
- Vanilla Blondie — Vanilla ice cream over white cake, enrobed with white chocolate ganache coating, finished with chocolate accent.
Cake Bites are the latest miniature offering from Baskin-Robbins, following the summer release of its Mini Cones and the recent addition of mini 31Below frozen beverages and Mini Soft Serve Parfaits. “We wanted to offer our ice cream cake enthusiasts a unique dessert that can be enjoyed individually or shared with that special someone,” said Stan Frankenthaler, Dunkin’ Brands VP innovation and executive chef. “Cake Bites provide our on-the-go consumers an affordable elegant holiday dessert that looks exquisite, tastes delicious and requires no preparation time.”
Operation Shoebox recognizes ECRM for support of soldiers abroad
CLEVELAND — ECRM recently was recognized for its involvement with the nonprofit organization Operation Shoebox, a charity that delivers personal care items, food and stationery to soldiers stationed all around the world.
More than 1,000 bags filled with product are sent to soldiers weekly. ECRM began donating leftover items from its EPPS events to Operation Shoebox in 2008. The founder of Operation Shoebox, Mary Harper, presented Mitch Bowlus, president of ECRM, with a plaque and flag that was flown in Iraq. The plaque was presented to recognize ECRM’s continuous support.
“Operation Shoebox is proud to be partnered with ECRM, and what people may not realize is that the ECRM family has touched the lives of so many deployed troops all over the world with their generous donations to Operation Shoebox," Harper said. "Because of their willingness to help, many troops have received needed items that we would not have been able to ship had ECRM not been there for us."
In the past three years, ECRM and its customers have donated more than $400,000 in products. “We appreciate those that serve our country and feel it is important to support our troops in any way we can," Bowlus said. "Our manufacturer customers have been extremely supportive and generous in assisting with our donations to the troops. We receive so many letters from troops thanking us for involvement. It is evident that Operation Shoebox is making a difference, and we are so happy to be a part of their mission."
