Pacific World unveils new SensatioNail at-home gel polish

BY Antoinette Alexander

LAKE FOREST, Calif. — Nail and beauty care company Pacific World officially has announced the launch of its new SensatioNail Invincible Gel Polish under the Nailene brand.

SensatioNail is a collection of at-home gel polish products that will provide users with up to two weeks of damage-proof wear.

"The overall nail care category has seen significant growth over the past year. As consumer focus and purchasing behavior has shifted to at-home, DIY products, we are thrilled to bring such an innovative product line to the market place," stated Marwan Zreik, SensatioNail VP marketing and research and development. "SensatioNail is the answer to multiple consumer and category demands, and never before has a gel product collection of this quality been available outside of the salon space.”

SensatioNail will debut at the end of November at mass retailers with the launch of the SensatioNail Starter Kit. The brand’s patented polymer technology allows the polish to glide on smoothly, while the PRO 3060 LED Lamp harnesses LED light technology to flash-harden SensatioNail gel polish.

The brand will follow up the launch with a complete collection rollout in January 2012, including the release of 12 SensatioNail Invincible Gel Polish colors in both solid and shimmering finishes. The polish formula is free from formaldehyde, toluene and dibutyl pthalate.

In addition, the brand’s website, Facebook and Twitter pages went live on Nov. 14, and will be informational hubs to communicate with consumers across multimedia platforms. This includes a library of instructional videos for various gel polish techniques that consumers can access through the Web, or they can use a smartphone to scan QR codes located on all product packaging.

SensatioNail is available at Walmart and select CVS locations nationwide. Suggested product prices will range from $12 to $60.

Awakening’s espresso-based hand cream aims to suppress food odors

BY Antoinette Alexander

CANYON, Calif. — Awakening Mineral Skin Care, whose products are sold at select Whole Foods Markets and specialty boutiques, has developed an espresso-based hand cream designed to suppress food odors while healing and hydrating skin.

"The vase of coffee beans on the cosmetics counter at Bloomingdale’s or Nordstrom’s is there for a purpose — to cleanse the nose of fragrance," stated Rob Hardwicke, Awakening president and product master. "Our Espresso Hands product functions in the same way: using coffee to cleanse the skin of cooking odors — and much more — as it also hydrates and heals skin."

Awakening products emphasize the use of natural magnesium and potassium for topical application to the skin to heal and hydrate. The company stated that it isolates these two minerals at its boutique lab, then hand crafts creams using essential oils and botanical extracts. Because the products are unisex, the creams’ natural fragrances are subtle and nonfloral.

Water Pik creates new space-efficient Waterpik Traveler water flosser

BY Antoinette Alexander

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Oral care manufacturer Water Pik, whose products are sold at select retailers, including mass merchandisers, drug stores and specialty retailers, has unveiled its new Waterpik Traveler.

The new Waterpik Traveler is 55% smaller than other models, and with global voltage compatibility, the Waterpik Traveler unit is ideal for travel anywhere and for those who have limited counter space.

The Waterpik Traveler utilizes pulsating water to clean deep between teeth and below the gum line where traditional brushing and flossing cannot reach, and, according to the manufacturer, is clinically proven to be two times more effective than traditional string floss.

It features 60 seconds of water capacity, includes a compactable reservoir, and comes with a soft-sided travel case. It also features four different tips to create a customized experience, including the classic jet tip, plaque seeker tip, orthodontic tip and the tongue cleaner.
