Oscar Mayer’s Selects line free of artificial preservatives, flavors and colors
MADISON, Wis. — Oscar Mayer has introduced a complete line of meat products that is free of artificial preservatives, flavors and colors.
Oscar Mayer Selects, which includes hot dogs, bacon and cold cuts, builds on the initial rollout of Oscar Mayer Selects hot dogs, which were introduced in 2010. This year, 50% of new Oscar Mayer products will have no artificial preservatives. What’s more, the brand is looking to reduce the sodium content in its products by 20% across the entire portfolio by the year’s end.
"Listening to our consumers, and finding better ways is just the way we do business," Oscar Mayer senior director of new product development Heather Buettner said. "More and more, consumers today want simple, everyday ingredients they know and trust. They want food they can feel good about that is affordable and easy to find. That’s why we’re bringing these new choices to the meat case and offering them at everyday prices in everyday stores."
Yankee Candle mans up with new collection
SOUTH DEERFIELD, Mass. — Yankee Candle has introduced a limited-edition collection of scents inspired by and created for men.
The company’s limited-edition Man Candles collection features four fragrances: Man Town, a masculine blend of spices, woods and musk; First Down, a combination of orange, patchouli, vetiver and leather; Riding Mower, which features the scent of freshly cut grass; and 2 x 4, featuring the scents of freshly planed wood and sawdust.
"We wanted to develop a collection of scents that men could strongly identify with," Yankee Candle SVP brand, design and innovation Hope Margala Klein said. "Man Candles make a great gift for kids to give Dad or for that college grad moving into his first apartment."
Man Candles are available in car jar, small tumbler and classic large jar sizes for a suggested retail price of $2.99, $15.99 and $27.99, respectively.
Ready-to-drink cocktail from DJ Pauly D to hit store shelves this summer
NEW YORK — DJ Pauly D, known for his stint on the MTV reality show "Jersey Shore," is gearing up to launch a ready-to-drink cocktail.
Remix pre-game cocktail, which will make its retail debut next month, is aimed to become one of the most successful and recognized prepared cocktails in the liquor industry, the company said. A premium vodka-based prepared cocktail, Remix will come in such original flavors as Oye Mojito, Yeah Yumberry, Strawberry Holla-peno and Starfruit.
