Organix-South develops new Purifying Neem Facial Mask

BY Antoinette Alexander

BOWLING GREEN, Fla. — Organix-South has announced the introduction of TheraNeem Naturals Purifying Neem Facial Mask, which has the triple-power of neem leaf, oil and bark to detoxify, clarify and purify the face and neck.

This mask combines French green, bentonite and kaolin clays to cleanse and exfoliate the skin, along with botanicals that support and nourish the dermis. The product is paraben free and gluten free.

“Neem acts as a natural drawing poultice for impurities. Neem’s gentle astringent qualities help reduce the appearance of pores and tighten the skin. This mask can be used not only on the face, but the neck, throat and any other areas that may need purifying. I recommend using weekly or as needed, or utilize as a spot treatment when challenges occur,” Autumn Blum, Organix-South founder and formulating chemist said.

Purifying Mask contains TheraNeem Naturals exclusive adaptogen blend, containing antioxidant-rich botanicals such as holy basil, ashwagndha and turmeric. In skin care, adaptogens help the skin respond to the effects of external stressors, keeping the skin looking healthy and vibrant, the manufacturer stated.

“In addition, this mask has been formulated with certified organic supercritical extracts of neem leaf and bark to provide the kind of strength that women expect from a mask treatment,” Autumn added.

Based in central Florida, Organix-South, a division of Nutraceutical Corp., offers a range of products including the brands TheraNeem Naturals and Naked Organix.

Music artist Pitbull develops fragrances for men, women

BY Antoinette Alexander

NEW YORK — Music artist Pitbull has announced the launch of new scents for men and women, Pitbull Premier Fragrances, which will be available exclusively on Amazon.com beginning Dec. 1.

This new venture by Pitbull urges consumers to "Unlock the World" through scent. Inspired by taking a trip around the world, these fragrances embody the electric energy of each city and its nightlife.

Created by Pitbull and Givaudan, Pitbull Man is a warm spiced vetiver scent created for the international man of love. Citrus top notes of mandarin and bergamot meet with warm spices of cardamom and sage to deliver a burst of energy. The heart contains a twist of violet’s masculine floracy and the combo of woods and verbena. The base of vetiver melts into musks and evolves into the warm depths of tonka bean and ambers.

Pitbull Woman evokes hotspots around the world. Created by Fragrance Resources, the fragrance has top notes of raspberries and red apples and mandarin. Nectarine blossom, freesia and jasmine join in the uber-feminine white floral heart. Creamy woods, amber, vanilla, and musk balance out with a sexy finish.

The bottle, designed by Pitbull, is sleek and architectural, reminiscent of modern skyscrapers anywhere in the world. Rising from a strong, polished silver base, the smooth black bottle is sophisticated and masculine for Pitbull Man. Sharp lines and angles move upward toward the black cap. Pitbull Woman follows the same design, housed in an elegant, white luster bottle to exude inner strength.

"We are truly excited about this unique launch strategy for Pitbull Premier Fragrance with Amazon.com," stated Donald J. Loftus, president of Parlux and EVP of Perfumania. "Pitbull Premier Fragrances will be the first exclusive prestige fragrance brand on the web site’s new premium beauty channel."

"We are pleased to announce the addition of Pitbull Premiere Fragrance to our growing beauty portfolio and look forward to continuing this partnership with Parlux Ltd.," added Rene Garcia, founder of Jacavi Worldwide.  "We are fortunate to work with such a talented group of artists and designers and look forward to seeing the success of this fragrance."

The fragrances will have a suggested retail price of $30 (1.0 oz.), $45 (1.7 oz.) and $55 (3.4 oz.).

Curel Skincare, health expert Bob Greene partner for diabetes awareness

BY Antoinette Alexander

NEW YORK — To help educate the public on diabetes prevention and management, health-and-wellness expert Bob Greene is partnering with Curel Skincare throughout the month of November.

As the best-selling author of The Best Life Guide to Managing Diabetes and Pre-Diabetes, the manufacturer stated that Greene is a natural partner for Curel Skincare, an official sponsor of Stop Diabetes and the American Diabetes Association.

Curel Skincare strives to help Americans alleviate the uncomfortable side effects of diabetes — specifically dry, itchy skin that is vulnerable to infections. Dermatologist-recommend Curel Intensive Healing Cream to soothe and treat even the driest skin, providing immediate hydration and long-lasting relief to Americans with diabetes-related skin disorders, the company stated.

In conjunction with Curel Skincare, Greene hopes to raise awareness about this epidemic and provide support for those who suffer from diabetes by offering his professional advice on everything from diabetes-related skin disorders to fun fitness solutions.

Some of Greene’s expert tips for living well with diabetes include:

  • Don’t feel like you have to face diabetes alone. Many Americans have the disease, and there are many health care professionals and websites at your disposal;
  • Go shopping for a new pair of sneakers. You might find you have some discomfort in your feet, which can be a result of poor circulation. A comfy pair of kicks will not only make you feel better, but encourage you to get outside and go for a walk — and exercising is a true mood booster and a fun activity to share with friends;
  • Care for your skin. Take control of diabetes-related dry skin by taking a few minutes out of your day to moisturize. A cream like Curel Intensive Healing Cream will soothe skin while strengthening your skin’s barrier (and protecting you from future infection); and
  • Find a partner in crime. It’s hard to break poor eating habits. Find a spouse, friend or family member who also wants to change their lifestyle and eat better.
