Orgain’s meal-replacement drinks carry organic seal
SAN ANTONIO — Orgain introduced the first certified organic ready-to-drink meal replacement last week at the ECRM Vitamin, Diet and Sports Nutrition conference.
The RTDs feature the “USDA Organic” seal and sell for a suggested retail price of $9.99 for a four-pack. Each drink contains 16 g of organic whey protein, complex carbohydrates from brown rice, five organic fruits and five organic vegetables.
Orgain’s RTDs currently are available in creamy chocolate fudge and sweet vanilla bean flavors, and a café mocha flavor will begin shipping in April.
iChill puts ECRM attendees at ease
SAN ANTONIO — Parlaying off of the success of energy shots, iChill Beverages hopes to offer a relaxation alternative with the iChill relaxation shot, introduced last week here at the ECRM Vitamin, Diet and Sports Nutrition conference.
The shot contains such ingredients as melatonin and valerian root to help people with high stress or those who have trouble sleeping to relax. The shot currently is available in several convenience store retailers, including 7-Eleven stores, and retails for a suggested price of $2.99.
Europa’s gluten-free, meal-replacement bars make appearance at ECRM show
SAN ANTONIO — “The View” co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck aims to raise awareness around celiac disease, coupling her recently published book, "The G-Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide," with a line of gluten-free, meal-replacement bars called Nogii in partnership with Europa Sports Products.
The Nogii line was presented to buyers attending ECRM Vitamin, Diet and Sports Nutrition here last week, and includes a Nogii kids’ bar that will begin shipping in March. The two adult gluten-free/protein-rich bars are available in peanut butter/chocolate (20 g of protein, 8 g of fat and 230 calories) and chocolate peanut butter caramel crisp (30 g of protein, 14 g of fat and 390 calories).
In addition to making mention of the Nogii line on “The View,” Hasselbeck also will be appearing at such events as NatExpoWest to promote the product.
