NUT-rition peanut butter is nutrient-dense and a good source of energy, providing 6 g to 7 g of protein per serving and, depending on variety, at least five vitamins and minerals. The products have 0 g of trans fat per serving. The line — which includes Cinnamon Raisin Granola Nut, Banana Granola Nut and Berry Nut flavors — is available nationwide in 12-oz. jars, with a suggested retail price of $3.49 
to $3.99.

Convenient hand-held items lead sales

Frozen food unit sales were up in the drug channel, outpacing unit growth in other channels, according to SymphonyIRI data. 


Hand-held frozen foods are the stars of the category, according to Mintel. Frozen breakfast food dollar sales were up 3.6% in the drug store channel, according to SymphonyIRI data, for the 12 weeks ended Aug. 12. Frozen appetizers and snacks also had single-digit growth.

SUPPLIER NEWS — Dasani has introduced Dasani Drops, a zero-calorie liquid beverage enhancer that allows people to add a burst of flavor to their water, the company said. Packaged in a squeezable 1.9-fl.-oz. bottle with a flip-top cap, the product comes in strawberry kiwi, pink lemonade, pineapple coconut and mixed berry flavors, and will be available at stores nationwide in October. 


Stride gum is inviting teenage consumers to embrace their individuality with the launch of new ID gum. The gum is packaged in a sleek folding pack that features a magnetic closure and original artwork sourced from young emerging artists from around the world. ID gum, which began shipping to retailers in August, carries a SRP of $1.49 per single pack and $3.29 for the multi-pack. The line is available in peppermint, berry melon and spearmint varieties.


Kellogg’s said it is embracing the seasonal flavor of pumpkin with new Pumpkin Pie Pop-Tarts and Eggo Seasons Pumpkin Spice waffles. Additionally, a limited-edition pumpkin flavor for its Pringles chips will be rolled out exclusively at Walmart. Other new products from Kellogg’s include: Frosted Flakes Chocolate; Frosted Mini-Wheats touch of raspberry; Pop-Tarts mini crisp blueberry; Pop-Tarts confetti cake; FiberPlus Nutty Delight bars (peanut and dark chocolate and honey roasted almond); Keebler Sandies toffee cookies; Mother’s Jungle animal cookies; Town House flatbread crisps in roasted garlic; and Cheez-It Big Monterey Jack.
