Novamex launches first natural, sparkling aloe vera beverage

EL PASO, TEXAS – Novamex, producer and marketer for such Mexican brands as Jarritos premium Mexican soda, on Thursday announced that it has launched Alova — the first natural, sparkling aloe vera beverage.

Alova will be available in three flavors: Cucumber/Mint, Mandarin Orange and Grapefruit. Each bottle contains 70-80 calories and all natural ingredients, real sugar, no preservatives and no artificial flavors.

Alova is lightly carbonated and smooth with a subtle taste, unlike the pulpy, highly sweetened formulas found in most traditional aloe vera beverages. The new beverage contains 15% organic aloe vera juice extracted from plants grown on a company-owned farm in Campeche, Mexico.

"We have developed an expertise in manufacturing great-tasting, naturally flavored sodas. Alova expands our product portfolio, enabling us to reach new consumers via new retail channels. Alova targets consumers who want unique, natural and organic-based products,” said Ramon Carrasco, chief operating officer for Novamex.

Novamex has entered into a partnership with The Fresh Market to be the exclusive retailer for the Alova line featured in all of their 127 stores in 25 states. Packaged in a 330mL glass bottle, Alova will be sold individually and comes packaged in 24-bottle cases.

Buffalo Nuts line adds new bold flavors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Tropical Foods — a food manufacturer that specializes in raw and roasted nuts, dried fruit and snack mixes — recently announced the introduction of new flavors to their top-selling Buffalo Nuts line.

The new flavors include Buffalo Nuts with Ranch, Honey Roasted Buffalo Nuts and Buffalo Nuts with Blue Cheese. Buffalo Nuts are peanuts with a kick of buffalo wing flavor.

"Our new additions allow people to choose from a variety of spicy flavors, and add to the industry trend of bold snacking options," said Chad Hartman, marketing director at Tropical Foods.

Buffalo Nuts with Ranch, for example, combines the cool flavor of ranch with the kick of Buffalo Nuts to create a zesty blend. Honey Roasted Buffalo Nuts begin with a sweet honey taste and end with the spicy buffalo wing flavor.

Arrowhead launches eco-friendly bottled water, recycling campaign

LOS ANGELES – Arrowhead Brand 100% Natural Spring Water on Thursday announced the launch of the .5 L ReBorn bottle in California.

The .5L ReBorn bottle is made of 50% recycled plastic (i.e., rPET), which requires 15% less energy to produce than bottles made from all-new materials. Additionally, bottles made of rPET can be continually recycled and reused.

Arrowhead, the West Coast brand of Nestlé Waters North America’s portfolio of regional spring water brands, is working to impact recycling on a broad scale by partnering with organizations like Keep America Beautiful, to help people take individual action, and Recycling Reinvented, to advocate for extended producer responsibility legislation — with the goal of improving PET beverage bottle recycling rates to 60% by 2018.

To celebrate the November launch of the new bottle design, Arrowhead and Keep California Beautiful — a division of the Keep America Beautiful local affiliate program — will celebrate America Recycles Day on Nov. 15 by hosting a volunteer recycling and beautification event in San Francisco.
