Mylan launches generic bipolar disorder, allergy treatments
PITTSBURGH — Mylan has launched generic versions of two drugs to treat bipolar disorder and allergies, the company said Tuesday.
Mylan announced the launch of lithium carbonate extended-release tablets in the 300-mg strength. The drug is a generic version of Noven Therapeutics’ Lithobid, various versions of which had sales of about $21 million during the 12-month period ended in March, according to IMS Health.
The company also launched desloratadine tablets in the 5-mg strength, a generic version of allergy treatment Clarinex, made by Schering-Plough, now part of Merck. Various versions of the drug had sales of about $194.6 million during the 12-month period that ended in March.
Mylan said it would ship both products immediately.
AAFES, Unilever promote ‘Salute to Clean Sweepstakes’
DALLAS — Shoppers at Army & Air Force Exchange Service stores are being encouraged to think clean this summer as part of a promotion involving Unilever.
The global consumer products company is offering a “Salute to Clean Sweepstakes,” in which customers eligible to shop at AAFES stores can enter to win a $1,000 gift card.
“Exchange shoppers can really clean up this summer,” said AAFES chief of staff Col. Thomas Ockenfels.
The deadline for entry to win one of the 15 gift cards is July 19.
Those eligible to shop at AAFES stores include National Guard, Reserve, military retirees, active duty personnel, and their authorized family members.
Stonyfield adds two new flavors to frozen Greek yogurt lineup
LONDONDERRY, N.H. — Stonyfield has bolstered its line of organic Oikos frozen Greek yogurt.
Stonyfield said its lineup has expanded to include peach mango and superfruits flavors, which tout zero fat and 100 calories per serving The two flavors join a lineup that includes chocolate, vanilla, honey and blueberry. The frozen Greek yogurt is available at stores nationwide.
"It takes a lot of willpower to turn down ice cream during the sizzling days of summer, so Stonyfield has crafted organic Oikos frozen Greek yogurt to be guilt-free without sacrificing flavor or creaminess," Stonyfield nutritionist Mary Kennedy said.
