Murad expands Age Reform line with new Rapid Collagen Infusion
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Murad has announced the launch of Rapid Collagen Infusion, a multi-tasking formula that is designed to fight wrinkles and loss of resilience by promoting collagen and elastin production while maintaining healthy hydration levels in the skin.
Rapid Collagen Infusion, which is part of the company’s Age Reform line, is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in two hours, according to the company.
Rapid Collagen Infusion is formulated with Murad’s proprietary collagen support complex to boost skin’s resilience and plump dehydrated skin to reduce wrinkle depth appearance, winged kelp to smooth skin by fostering natural collagen and elastin, and Murad’s proprietary complex, cellular hydro-lock containing apple and lentil seed extracts to plump skin and help smooth fine lines and wrinkles.

Chattem settles ACT Total Care Anticavity Fluoride Mouthwash suit
SAN DIEGO — Consumers who purchased Chattem’s ACT Total Care Anticavity Fluoride Mouthwash between Jan. 1, 2009, and June 30, 2010, may be entitled to a cash refund from a class action settlement, according to a statement issued by the manufacturer.
According to the lawsuit, Chattem’s ACT Total Care Anticavity Fluoride Mouthwash did not provide all of the comprehensive oral care health benefits as advertised, including the ability to reduce, remove, or otherwise fight plaque. Chattem stated that it “strongly denies the allegations made in the lawsuit.” The Court has not decided who is right and who is wrong. Instead, the parties decided to settle the dispute.
The court will hold a final approval hearing on May 7, 2013 to determine whether the proposed settlement is fair, reasonable, and adequate, to approve attorneys’ fees and expenses, and any service award for the class representative.
Under the settlement, each class member who submits a valid claim may be entitled to a cash payment for bottles of ACT Total Care purchased between Jan. 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010, not to exceed 10 bottles. Chattem will make payments of up to $1.5 million into a settlement fund to reimburse class members for the ACT Total Care they purchased, to pay for costs of settlement administration, and a service award to the class representative. Class members are scheduled to receive $1.50 for each qualifying 18-ounce or smaller bottle, and $2 for each qualifying 33-ounce or larger bottle. Depending on the amount of claims made and other factors, the payments may be decreased or increased, not to exceed $4 per 18-ounce or smaller bottle and $6 per 33-ounce or larger bottle.
In addition, Chattem has agreed to pay an award of plaintiff’s attorneys’ fees and expenses of up to $300,000, separate from the settlement fund.

Walgreens to host ‘Night at the W’ following the People’s Choice Awards
DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens on Wednesday announced that all Walgreens locations will host a "Night at the W" to celebrate the retail pharmacy operator’s involvement in the People’s Choice Awards. "The People’s Choice Awards 2013" airs Jan. 9 on CBS; the "Night at the W" will take place the following day between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.
As part of the event, Walgreens beauty advisors along with products from CoverGirl, Olay, Pantene and Crest will be available to help customers achieve their own "red carpet" looks for free, and customers also will receive a copy of the "Red Carpet Guide to Glamour."
"As we ring in the new year and awards show season, it’s a perfect time for our customers to try out a new look, and we’re excited to help them do that," stated Shannon Curtin, Walgreens divisional VP and general merchandising manager for beauty, personal care and seasonal. "These events give our customers a chance to see all of the latest and greatest beauty products we have to offer."
In addition, "Night at the W" attendees can participate in a sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip for two to the 2014 People’s Choice Awards or one of 1,000 Red Carpet Gift Boxes.
