Maybelline names new brand ambassador
NEW YORK Maybelline New York has named Indian model Diana Penty as its new brand ambassador, joining the ranks of such international supermodels as Adriana Lima and Christy Turlington.
Penty, a student of the Elite Model Management, succeeds Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone as a brand ambassador for Maybelline.
“I feel great to get this opportunity to endorse a brand that is so vibrant and truly multi-ethnic. For me it is not only about whom I am replacing but it’s about being on the same platform as international models and get international exposure,” stated Penty, according to published reports.
Kiss My Face rolls out new eco-friendly initiatives
GARDINER, N.Y. Kiss My Face, a maker of natural personal care products, is taking its eco-consciousness to a new level with several initiatives, including the development of an in-store display that is recyclable and made from recycled materials.
The new display, dubbed Greenhouse, was developed in partnership with LG&P In-Store Agency. Kiss My Face is distributing the Greenhouse and debuting newly redesigned packaging that minimizes waste and the use of toxic materials.
Kiss My Face is launching its Potent & Pure skin care line in 65 percent recycled packaging, produced using wind power and water-soluble inks. New shipping containers made of 65 percent recycled cardboard and water-soluble inks will be used to distribute products to retailers, and counter units used to display organic lip products will be made of 100 percent recycled cardboard.
In addition, the company has teamed up with RecycleBank, an organization that rewards consumers for recycling trash in their own neighborhoods. Participants in RecycleBank can earn reward points for each pound of trash recycled, then use their points to earn coupons for Kiss My Face and other consumer brands. The coupons are redeemable at local and national retailers.
Surya Brasil introduces men’s organic body care line
NEW YORK Surya Brasil, a supplier of organic and natural cosmetics from Brazil, has introduced a new organic body care line for men.
Sapien is formulated for male skin and hair, and offers pure essential oils, gluten-free amaranth proteins and mild cleansing agents. Each of the six formulations is certified organic through Eco Cert and is cruelty-free.
The collection includes Shampoo 2-in-1, Shower Gel, Facial Scrub, Shave Cream, After Shave Cream and Styling Gel. The products are made with ethically harvested plants and fruits from the Amazon. The subtle woody aroma is derived from a blend of essential oils including cedarwood, lemon, bergamot and clove.
The company is a member of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and PETA. The products are sold in health food stores, pharmacies and beauty supply outlets throughout the world. The Sao Paulo-based company has offices in the United States and India and also exports to more than 15 countries.
