Mars Chocolate debuts upcoming lines at trade show

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. — Mars Chocolate this week showcased some of its soon-to-be-launched confections and snacks at the National Confectioners Association’s Sweets and Snacks Show.

Such items slated to hit retail in the coming months are:

  • Dove Silky Smooth cookies and crème, which blends white chocolate with crunchy chocolate cookie bits. The product will be available in September for a suggested retail price of $1.09 for a 1.34-oz. single bar; $2.29 for a 3.07-oz. large bar and $3.49 for an 8-oz. bag of Dove Promises;

  • Halloween 2012 will have more treats than tricks with the debut of M&M’s candy corn white chocolate candies; Milky Way caramel apple autumn miniatures; M&M’s Minis milk chocolate candies tube; Snickers pumpkin singles; Snickers 2-to-go pumpkins; Snickers pumpkin 6-packs; M&M’s Fun Size pretzel chocolate candies bag; Snickers Fun Size Peanut Butter Squared bars; Fun Size Mix Peanut and Peanut Butter Lovers chocolate candies bag; M&M’s Fun Size mix variety and caramel lovers mix variety stand-up pouches; Fun Size mix variety bag; Fun Size mix variety stand-up pouch in 135 pieces and 252 pieces sizes; M&M’s Fun Size mix variety bag in 9.94-oz. and 50 pieces sizes; and filled bar mix variety bag.

  • Mars Chocolate also showcased some of its Valentine Day 2013 offerings, including Snickers heart singles; Snickers heart 6-pack; Milky Way Simply Caramel Heart singles; Dove Silky Smooth assorted heart tin; M&M’s chocolate candies gift box; M&M’s milk chocolate Cupid; M&M’s Fun Size heart gift box; Minis Mix heart gift box; Dove Promises Silky Smooth milk chocolate and strawberry crème hearts 3 Musketeers dark chocolate strawberry minis; Minis Mix chocolates and M&M’s Fun Size milk chocolate candies and Minis Mix heart gift boxes display.

V8 V-Fusion launches carbonated beverages

CAMDEN, N.J. — Campbell’s is making its V8 V-Fusion line bubbly.

New V8 V-Fusion Sparkling juice drinks are carbonated beverages that tout 50 calories per serving and provide a combined serving of fruits and vegetables without any added sugar, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, the company said.

"We know that people love the refreshing taste of soft drinks, but they’re looking for healthier options. That’s why sparkling juices have enjoyed an unprecedented boom," V8 Beverages VP Dale Clemiss said. "V8 V-Fusion Sparkling is the perfect choice — it has the sweetness and refreshing bubbles people crave, plus the nutrition they want and need."

V8 V-Fusion Sparkling is available in tangerine raspberry, black cherry pomegranate and strawberry lemonade varieties.

YoCrunch adds Chips Ahoy! mix-in topping

CHICAGO — YoCrunch has launched its latest yogurt that features a mix-in topping.

The company said its low-fat vanilla yogurt now is available with a Chips Ahoy! cookie pieces topping.

"The addition of Chips Ahoy! topping to the YoCrunch line of yogurts offers crunchy mix-ins in a portable yogurt package, and delivers on our promise of ‘great yogurt. Real fun!,’" YoCrunch SVP marketing Ralph Tschantz said.

YoCrunch yogurt with Chips Ahoy! cookie pieces carries a suggested retail price for of 79 cents to 89 cents per 6-oz. cup. This summer, YoCrunch will introduce a multipack of four, 4-oz. cups for a suggested retail price of $2.99.
