Jewel-Osco helps Chicagoland customers save at pump

BY Allison Cerra

CHICAGO — Jewel-Osco is helping Chicagoland shoppers get more value on their everyday grocery purchases through the launch of a new fuel savings program.

My Jewel-Osco Fuel Rewards program allows customers, who use their reward card when shopping at participating Jewel-Osco stores, to be able to earn Fuel Rewards savings, which may be redeemed at local participating Shell stations for fuel savings at the pump. How it works: Consumers need to carry their My Jewel-Osco rewards card and scan it when they check out at the store to earn Fuel Rewards savings. For every $50 spent in qualified purchases at participating Jewel-Osco stores, consumers can earn a savings of 5 cents per gallon on fuel that is redeemable on a single fill-up, up to 20 gallons, at any one of more than 350 local participating Shell stations. Jewel-Osco noted that the Fuel Rewards savings accumulate, so the more customers spend at stores leads to the earning of more Fuel Rewards savings.

The program officially kicks off June 25.

"Jewel-Osco is pleased to be able to offer local consumers the opportunity to save money on fuel," Jewel-Osco director of marketing Melissa Pursley said. "We recognize that today’s consumers are continually looking for increased value, and the My Jewel-Osco Fuel Rewards program provides them with an easy way to save. We encourage everyone in the Chicago area to sign up for a My Jewel-Osco rewards card to start taking advantage of the savings."
