Humphreys appointed SQM manager at Perrigo

ALLEGAN, Mich. Perrigo on Wednesday promoted Rachel Humphreys to manager of supplier quality management for its U.S. sites.

Prior to becoming SQM manager, Humphreys most recently worked as a senior auditor in Perrigo’s compliance group and led the formation and development of the global quality auditor network.

In her new role, Humphreys will be responsible for developing and implementing a harmonized process in raw material and component supplier quality management across Perrigo’s U.S. Consumer Healthcare sites.

New no-touch thermometer to hit store shelves this summer

BUFFALO, N.Y. American Scientific Resources plans to launch a premium thermometer — the Kidz+Med NeverTouch 5-in-1 — beginning Aug. 1.

 

The no-touch thermometer allows mom to take her child’s temperature without waking them if their asleep. Other uses include determining the temperature of a feeding bottle, bath water or even an ambient temperature. The company is planning a $1.5 million consumer ad spend this fall, reaching consumers on all three major networks as well as Bravo and the Weather Channel.

 

 

In addition, American Scientific has signed “Safety Mom” Alison Rhodes as an official spokesperson. Rhodes is a nationally-recognized expert in child safety who owns her own “babyproofing” company called Safety Mom Solutions.

 

 

She has been a guest on many national television shows including "The Today Show," "CNN International" and "The Doctors."

ALPHARETTA, Ga. Bruder Healthcare Co. is looking to extend its line of Thermalon heat therapy products into the cough/cold arena, the company noted recently.

A recent sinus compress (covering the eyes and nose) test-marketed in the allergy set generated three-times the sales as compared to a similar SKU merchandised alongside other hot/cold therapies, the company shared with Drug Store News. The moist heat helps relieve sinus pain and congestion.
