FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Hisamitsu America on Wednesday announced the company shipped a season’s supply of its topical pain treatment Salonpas products to Jeremy Lin, the New York Knicks point guard who recently underwent surgery to repair a chronic meniscus tear in his knee and is expected to be off the court for about six weeks.
"Everyone at Hisamitsu America is rooting for Jeremy Lin’s speedy recovery," Hisamitsu America senior marketing director Patrick Carroll said. "We believe our topical analgesic treatments will help Jeremy Lin manage his pain and rebound our hopes for the Knicks in the NBA playoffs this season."
"Using a transdermal patch or other topical medication, like a spray or foam, provides a welcome alternative for pain sufferers, including those who prefer to avoid the use of oral over-the-counter pain relief medication labeled for minor aches and pains," Salonpas spokesman Dr. Ken Kronhaus said.

Rolling Strong maps highway to health and wellness with launch of RoadApp
LAS VEGAS — Rolling Strong on Tuesday introduced a wellness application specifically targeting professional drivers.
Rolling Strong’s RoadApp to Wellness is a free downloadable app to any iPhone, iPad or computer via RollingStrong.com/app. The app specifically is designed for the professional driver with helpful information to navigate their personal wellness, as well as transportation companies looking to connect with the mobile workforce.
“We want to offer drivers, who are working hard to manage their personal health and for those who are just beginning to think about wellness, a tool to help them reach their health goals,” Rolling Strong president Bob Perry said. “By delivering this opportunity to all drivers, hopefully, it will encourage them to take a peak under their own personal hood in taking better care of themselves on the road and at home.”
The RoadApp features a free section that includes an everday health tip, Rolling Strong events and the monthly Rolling Strong Wellness e-newsletter. In addition, the RoadApp allows drivers the ability to look up clinic locations, Rolling Strong Snap Fitness gym locations and Pilot Flying J locations, and gives drivers the ability to pull up a restaurant’s nutritional guide to determine the healthiest item on the menu. It also shows proper exercises for drivers using their truck, videos that discuss different ailments a driver may be suffering from and a link to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention for the latest in health information.
Meanwhile, the Rolling Strong RoadApp’s member section connects the driver and transportation industry to a database that keeps track of their health each time they enter their biometric readings (blood pressure, weight, body amss index, sugar) from Rolling Strong’s health clinic partners and wellness stations out on the road.
In addition to the free and member sections, the RoadApp also includes diabetes information and management tools from Bayer HealthCare, including an offer to drivers for their choice of either Bayer’s Contour or Bayer’s Breeze2 blood-glucose meters.
“It’s an exciting time for Rolling Strong and shows the steady progression in driver health and wellness. This app is another advancement in bringing driver wellness into the main stream,” Perry said. “This is another giant step in staying true to our mission to support driver wellness and to help them navigate down the highway to better health getting them home safe each and every time to their families.”
