GSK’s Alli, celebrity Samantha Harris team up to battle the bulge this holiday
PARSIPPANY, N.J. — GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare and TV personality Samantha Harris have teamed up to announce the launch of "Let’s Fight Holiday Fat" — a new, free online guide that provides weight maintenance support for Americans trying to squeeze in healthy eating and exercise this season.
The tool, created courtesy of Alli, an FDA-approved weight-loss aid available without a prescription — is for anyone interested in overcoming the holidays and being weight-loss-ready for 2013.
LetsFightHolidayFat.com combines three core elements for the weight-conscious during the holidays — diet, physical activity and motivation, all in an easy-to-use interface. It helps track goals and prepare for long-term success with various features, including:
- Follow-along fitness videos, from cross training to yoga/pilates;
- Healthy (i.e., reduced calorie, low-fat) daily meal suggestions and recipes;
- Custom calorie- and activity-tracking;
- Community and social features and forums;

Cold-EEZE helps support City Harvest ‘Daily News’ Readers ‘Care to Feed the Hungry’ food drive
DOYLESTOWN, Pa. — Makers of Cold-EEZE, Prophase Labs, a leader in OTC natural cold remedies, has announced its support for the Daily News Readers’ "Care to Feed the Hungry Canned Food Drive," a 30-year tradition of collecting nonperishable food donations throughout New York City.
As part of this food drive event, Cold-EEZE will bring America’s favorite reality sweethearts, Kevin and Danielle Jonas from E!’s hit TV show "Married to Jonas," to New York City’s Engine 8, Ladder 2, Battalion 8 Firehouse located at 165 East 51st Street (between 3rd Avenue and Lexington Avenue) on Friday, December 14 from noon to 2 p.m.

Pfizer Consumer introduces Robitussin CoughCast, an online tracking tool capturing area cough activity
MADISON, N.J. — Pfizer Consumer Healthcare on Wednesday introduced Robitussin CoughCast, a new interactive tool that allows people to track cough activity in their local area.
According to the company, already this year nearly 18.2 million U.S. adults have experienced cold and flu symptoms, and more than 18 million have reported suffering from cough, making it one of the most highly reported symptoms.
On average, there are more than 1 billion cases of the common cold each year in the United States, and it is estimated that between 5% and 20% of the population will get the flu. Most adults are likely to have a common cold two to four times a year, and up to 50% of people suffering from a cold will have a cough.
