GNC to offer MusclePharm products

DENVER, Colo. MusclePharm Corp. on Wednesday announced it has reached an agreement with GNC to place its complete line of products into the 1,200 top-selling GNC retail outlets across the United States.

“This move significantly broadens MusclePharm’s exposure to consumers of nutritional supplements,” stated Brad Pyatt, MusclePharm’s CEO. “Our products are distributed in all 447 outlets of the Vitamin Shoppe chain across 37 states. We have a strong Internet presence with products on Bodybuilding.com, Amazon, Pro Source, VitaDigest, Netrition, and approximately 50 independent sites. As brand of the year on Bodybuilding.com and a top 50 seller … on their site, we look forward to the opportunity to have the same success with GNC.”

Visine unveils new red eye formula

MORRIS PLAINS, N.J. Visine has developed a new eye-drop formula that relieves eye redness and irritation.

New Visine maximum redness relief formula uses a special Hydroblend formula to soothe irritation and provide up to ten hours of comfort, Visine said. In line with the product launch, Visine has developed a free app for iPhone and iPod Touch — the Visine red eye remover application — that eliminates red eye from consumers’ photos in moments.

Visine maximum redness relief formula is available nationwide for $5.99 (in 0.5 fl. oz.) at food, drug and mass merchandisers.

Shiff survey: Cardiologists recommend supplements to patients

SALT LAKE CITY According to a new national survey commissioned by Schiff Nutrition — and conducted by an independent research firm — an overwhelming majority of cardiologists (91%) have recommended dietary supplements to their patients to support cardiovascular health.

The survey found that three-quarters of cardiologists said that if they had to choose one dietary supplement to specifically support the cardiovascular health, they would choose omega-3 fatty acids, far more so than antioxidants (7%), CoQ-10 (2%) and vitamin E (1%).
