Giant Eagle opens environmentally friendly supermarket in Cleveland

CLEVELAND — Giant Eagle has opened an 83,000-sq.-ft., state-of-the-art supermarket in Cleveland.

The store, located near Interstate 77 and Route 82, marks Giant Eagle’s first new supermarket in the Cleveland area since the opening of its West 117th and Interstate 90 location. Giant Eagle said the store features a diverse selection of the region’s freshest, high quality foods and prepared dishes, a health, beauty and wellness department, a sit-down cafe, an in-store Huntington Bank branch and a nearby GetGo location. The latest Giant Eagle also is environmentall friendly and marks northeast Ohio’s first supermarket with a solar roof.

"The new store, which is bringing approximately 250 new jobs to the area, is designed with a convenient and friendly shopping experience in mind, and represents the latest design and features we have to offer," Giant Eagle senior director of corporate communications Rob Borella said. "The store also incorporates many of the environmentally friendly features that have helped us earn the world’s first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certified supermarket in nearby Brunswick, and since seven other supermarket and fuel and convenience store locations including our most recent LEED certification in Indiana, Pa."

Pressman Toy offers games, puzzles based on ‘The Smurfs’

NEW YORK — Pressman Toy is launching a line of games and puzzles based both on the first movie and the classic artwork of "The Smurfs."

The line includes a range of memory, action and board games, as well as floor size puzzles and puzzles in tins, all priced under $20, the company said. Additionally, Pressman Toy also will launch a line of new products inspired by Columbia Pictures’/Sony Pictures Animation’s 3D release "The Smurfs 2," scheduled to be released next summer.

"’The Smurfs’ may be only three apples high, but these little blue folks have big staying power," Pressman Toy president Jim Pressman said. "’The Smurfs’ have been entertaining families for generations and we know families will enjoy engaging with them through our games and puzzles."

Pressman Toy’s games and puzzles are available for purchase at mass and specialty retailers nationwide.

Upsher-Smith updates epilepsy educational website

MAPLE GROVE, Minn. — Drug maker Upsher-Smith Labs will unveil updates to its educational website for healthcare providers who specialize in epilepsy at the American Academy of Neurology’s annual meeting in New Orleans, the company said.

The website, Epilog.us, has been expanded to include question-and-answer videos and other content from healthcare professionals and academics, the company said. The AAN meeting ends Thursday.

"Co-morbidities create some of the most challenging issues for people with epilepsy and their families," Upsher-Smith COO Tom Burke said. "Upsher-Smith is pleased to add the latest thinking on this important patient management issue to Epilog.us, our educational website for healthcare professionals in the epilepsy community."
