General Mills brings ‘the force’ to the breakfast table via ‘Star Wars’ promotion

MINNEAPOLIS — General Mills has launched a special promotion in line with the premiere of "Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace" in 3D.

General Mills said its cereal brands will tout specially marked boxes that will contain eight exclusive collectable pens featuring iconic characters from the film. Participating cereals include Cinnamon Toast Crunch (12.8 oz.), Lucky Charms (11.5 oz.), Reese’s Puffs (13 oz.), Cheerios (14 oz.), and Cookie Crisp (11.25 oz).

“Star Wars is such an exciting and timeless franchise, and we are thrilled to combine it with our nourishing cereals made with whole grain,” said Julie Anderla, integrated communications manager for General Mills. “By uniting the two, we are truly creating an unstoppable ‘Force’.”

Clorox Professional Products introduces hydrogen peroxide cleaner disinfectant wipes, spray

OAKLAND, Calif. — Clorox’s Professional Products division has launched a new line of ready-to-use, one-step cleaner disinfectants engineered with a patented activated hydrogen peroxide formula.

New Clorox Healthcare hydrogen peroxide cleaner disinfectant wipes and spray are noncorrosive, compatible with many healthcare surfaces and medical equipment, and are recommended for daily surface disinfection facility-wide, Clorox said. The products feature activated hydrogen peroxide and are designed to kill an array of bacteria and viruses in 30 seconds to one minute, including S. aureus, K. pneumoniae, A. baumannii, P. aeruginosa and Enterobacter aerogenes. The products also are registered with the Environmental Protection Agency.

The line officially will launch in March.

"Healthcare professionals told us they needed disinfectants that work fast and are efficient, compatible with healthcare surfaces and comfortable for use by cleaning staff as well as around patients," said Beata Grabowski, director of marketing at Clorox Professional Products. "We listened to our end users and created a technical breakthrough in daily disinfection, offering speed, compliance, value and excellent product aesthetics to help healthcare professionals fight healthcare-associated infections."

Simply Orange introduces new sweet, tart juice drinks

APOPKA, Fla. — Simply Orange has added two beverages to its lineup.

Simply Cranberry Cocktail and Simply Lemonade with Mango are made with all-natural ingredients and use only not-from-concentrate juices, the company said. Both flavors will be available 59-oz. carafes, while Simply Cranberry Cocktail also is available as a 13.5-fl.-oz. single-serve size.

Simply Cranberry Cocktail and Simply Lemonade with Mango beverages now are available in the refrigerated section of stores nationwide.
