Sanofi launches Facebook contest promoting Allegra

BY Michael Johnsen

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Sanofi on Wednesday announced the introduction of Allegra’s new Allergy Adventures contest on Facebook. Allergy sufferers are invited to upload a short video showing their daily challenges with allergies for a chance to win $5,000 toward a vacation package.

Former "Survivor" winner and radio personality Danni Boatwright has signed on to promote the contest. "During my time on [‘Survivor’], I had nowhere to escape when I had a bad allergy day," she said. "Now, I’m juggling work and being a mom and I need to be able to keep up with life’s daily adventures. Allegra is my go-to solution for allergy season, so I was excited to help get the word out and invite people to enter the Allergy Adventures contest."

Beginning Aug. 10 through Sept. 2, consumers can visit Facebook.com/AllegraOTC to submit a short video (60 seconds or less) showing how uncontrolled allergies can disrupt one’s daily routine.

Consumers also can enter in a sweepstakes on the Allegra OTC Facebook page for a chance to win 1-of-6 $100 travel gift cards.

Allegra also is teaming up with The Weather Channel to air abbreviated stories on The Weather Channel network. The stories will feature situations when allergies have disrupted plans, such as a dog trainer about to teach a class, a runner before starting a marathon or a father with his son during their first backpacking trip. A cross-platform effort, consumers then can go to Weather.com/AllergyAdventures to see the full stories and learn more information about allergies.
