FDA orders nationwide egg recall
SILVER SPRING, Md. Cases of food poisoning in consumers eating eggs from an Iowa-based company have prompted a nationwide recall.
The Food and Drug Administration said Thursday that it would recall some 380 million eggs produced by Galt, Iowa-based Wright County Egg due to the possibility that some may contain Salmonella Enteritidis.
The eggs are produced at all five of the company’s farms and sold under different brand names.
Quality Food Brands products now available at Rite Aid
MONROE, Mich. Quality Food Brands, a subsidiary of Synergy Brands, will sell its products in Rite Aid stores across the country, Quality Food Brands said.
“We are confident that these products will enjoy excellent sales movement,” said Mair Faibish, CEO of Synergy Brands. He added: “QFBI has a strong expectation that this is the beginning of a good relationship with one of the leading drug retailers in the United States.”
Rite Aid operates 4,780 drug stores in 31 states. The company offers approximately 25,000 front-end products in its stores.
Whole Foods develops healthy-eating app
AUSTIN, Texas Whole Foods is on a mission to help consumers make healthy lifestyle choices with a new app.
The Whole Foods Market Missions App will help users eat better and live better by allowing users to create their own profile to take on 70 challenges called missions, track the badges they earn from the challenges and share their favorite tips on nutrition, exercise and more via Facebook, Twitter and e-mail.
