Desert Essence introduces vegan body washes
NEW YORK Desert Essence Organics has announced the launch of new body washes in Almond, Bulgarian Lavender, Vanilla Chai and Coconut.
The Almond Hydrating Body Wash is infused with organic almond extract and almond oil. The Vanilla Chai Repairing Body Wash is enriched with organic black and green teas that protect and repair the skin. Coconut Refreshing Body Wash is infused with organic coconut oil. The Bulgarian Lavender Calming Body Wash is made with lavender essential oil.
The body washes also have grapefruit seed extract and alpha hydroxy acids. They are 100 percent vegan, biodegradable, cruelty and wheat/gluten-free.

JH Partners’ Hansen and John to leave Bare Escentuals board
SAN FRANCISCO Bare Escentuals, a maker of mineral makeup, has announced the departure of two board members who are partners in JH Partners, a private equity firm.
According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Michael John, a member of the board of directors, will not stand for re-election at the company’s annual meeting in May. In addition, John Hansen, also a member of the board of directors, will resign from the board, effective April 15.
JH Partners’ institutional funds distributed all of the shares of the company’s common stock held by them to their various partners in November 2007. As a result, JH Partners’ funds no longer hold a significant interest in the company’s common stock, and Hansen and John have decided to leave the board to focus on other matters. According to the company, their decision is not the result of any disagreement within the company.
Aveeno introduces Positively Ageless product line
SKILLMAN, N.J. Aveeno, a Johnson & Johnson Consumer Cos. brand, has introduced a line of anti-age products dubbed Positively Ageless.
The new Positively Ageless Lifting & Firming products from Aveeno are infused with natural wheat protein to tighten and tone skin and a natural shiitake complex that decelerates the breakdown of collagen and elastin, and reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
The collection includes Lifting & Firming Eye Cream, Lifting & Firming Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 and Lifting & Firming Night Cream. The products are priced at $19.99 each.
According to the company, the Lifting & Firming products, which are hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic, are packaged using post-consumer recycled materials.
