Desert Essence enters hair styling category

BY Antoinette Alexander

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. — Desert Essence is expanding its Coconut Hair Care line with the launch of new styling products designed to help meet the styling needs of hair, from smoothing to defining curls and heat protection.

All three products are 100% vegan and free of silicones, wheat and gluten.

For those who wish to naturally smooth flyaways and add shine, there is the Coconut Shine & Refine hair lotion. Infused with avena strigosa seed extract (black oat) and coconut oil and extract, this lotion moisturizes and helps repair damaged hair. Desert-derived botanicals like yucca cactus and aloe add volume and shine.

Add a soft, weightless bounce to curls with Coconut Soft Curls Hair Cream, a feather-light natural leave-in conditioner. Just a small amount of this silicone-free cream softens and moisturizes curly hair, making it silky smooth. It is infused with desert-derived botanicals and coconut oil to strengthen hair and repair damage from environmental stressors and styling.

The Coconut Hair Defrizzer and Heat Protection Spray is a styling product that can be used before styling or by itself. Infused with panthenol (pro-vitamin B), this lightweight spray naturally penetrates hair cuticles and conditions from within, protecting the surface of the hair against styling damage. A blend of desert-derived botanicals, including agave and nopal cactus, and coconut extract, smooth hair and add shine.

The new Coconut Styling products, which will available at natural stores beginning in June, are priced at $9.99.
