Consumers associate wellness with personal products

When asked about attributes associated with personal products, "health and wellness" is the most common response, followed by confidence, according to an online survey of almost 700 AccentHealth viewers conducted in April. Fewer than one-third of respondents associated health, beauty and hygiene products with fashion or vanity.

TravelCenters of America launches fitness program for professional drivers

WESTLAKE, Ohio — TravelCenters of America, operator of the TA and Petro Stopping Centers travel center brands, on Wednesday launched its "Get Moving. Stay Fit." program designed to help professional drivers live a healthier lifestyle by focusing on nutrition and physical fitness.

The program was designed in cooperation with the President’s Challenge, the premier program of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition.

First introduced for pre-enrollment in March 2013, "Get Moving. Stay Fit." is tailored specifically for professional drivers. It is an 8-week, self-directed program, and drivers participate through the UltraONE Driver Rewards Kiosks located at all TA and Petro locations. 

The travel center retailer is rewarding healthy behavior recorded through those kiosks with "Apple Credits" that drivers can trade for apparel like towels and caps.

NASP launches specialty pharmacy education web resource

TAMPA, Fla. — The National Association of Specialty Pharmacy has launched an online resource with clinical and business-related content in more than 20 therapeutic categories, the group said Thursday.

The Specialty Pharmacy Education Center provides 30 hours worth of content for members of the organization, including preparation for the group’s Certified Specialty Pharmacist program.

"SPEC will transform specialty pharmacy education and training for professionals working in this growing area of the pharmacy industry and allow professionals to expand their knowledge and skills to improve patient outcomes," SPEC EVP Emile Guillot said. "An educated workforce helps to protect the public by improving health outcomes and reducing medication errors."
