ConAgra completes National Pretzel acquisition
OMAHA, Neb. — ConAgra Foods has completed its acquisition of private-label pretzel maker National Pretzel, the company announced.
The company announced its agreement to acquire National Pretzel from Brookstone Holding on Nov. 11. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Lancaster, Pa.-based National Pretzel includes three bakeries located in Lancaster, Pa., Hanover, Pa., and Visalia, Calif. Additionally, more than 700 National Pretzel employees officially joined ConAgra as part of the transaction, the company said.
Nestlé Crunch introduces limited-edition candy bar for holidays
GLENDALE, Calif. — Nestlé Crunch has unveiled a limited-edition chocolate bar that will be available this holiday season.
Partnering with Paul Frank Industries, the candy is a 2.75-oz. bar tucked inside a colorful gift envelope, which doubles as a holiday card and features characters from the Paul Frank collection, including Julius the Monkey and Clancy the Giraffe.
As part of the release, the companies also have launched the Nestlé Crunch/Paul Frank stocking stuffer online sweepstakes on Facebook, where fans can earn the chance to win various prizes, including a month’s supply of Nestlé Crunch bars and one Paul Frank product.
The Nestlé Crunch Paul Frank bar is available at Target stores nationwide for the holiday season.
Smith’s introduces all-natural sour cream
ORRVILLE, Ohio — Smith’s has launched its latest sour cream product.
Smith’s all-natural sour cream is made with grade A and pasteurized milk and cream, and the product also is gluten-free and KO Kosher-certified. Smith’s all-natural sour cream also touts 60 calories per 2-tablespoon serving.
Smith’s all-natural sour cream is packaged in 16-oz. containers at suggested retail pricing of $2.29 to $2.49.
