Clearasil launches ‘Rock Your Skin’ sweepstakes

PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Clearasil, a skin care brand from Reckitt Benckiser, has launched the "Rock Your Skin" Guitar Sweepstakes, giving Facebook fans the chance to win an autographed Gibson Melody Maker Les Paul guitar.

The guitar was signed at the Clearasil Vibe+Revive Lounge within the Miami Express Yourself Oasis at the Hard Rock Hotel during the Lollapalooza music festival. The guitar features autographs from celebrities and musicians including John Legend, LeAnn Rimes, Samantha Ronson, Taylor Momsen of “Gossip Girl,” “Twilight” star Kellan Lutz and more.

The sweepstakes is the brand’s way of sharing the Lollapalooza experience with those who could not attend and a way to continue to position the Clearasil Facebook page as a destination for content that is relevant to its consumers.

"Facebook has given us the opportunity to expand the ways in which we engage with our consumers, and this is just one example of how we are working to fuse Clearasil brand positioning and products with our consumer’s passions and interests," said Kevin Harshaw, marketing director of personal care at Clearasil parent company Reckitt Benckiser. "We know that music and Facebook play important roles in the lives of many of our young adult consumers, so it makes sense to start there."

Starting Aug. 5, consumers were able to enter for a chance to win the autographed Gibson Melody Maker Les Paul guitar by "liking" the Clearasil Facebook page and filling out the entry form. The "Rock Your Skin" Guitar Sweepstakes will run through Sept. 9, and one winner will be selected at random to win. Five runners-up also will receive a prize pack of assorted Clearasil products. Winners will be posted on Facebook.com/ClearasilUS.

The sweepstakes is a continuation of the brand’s "Rock Your Skin" campaign that kicked off early this summer with a pre-Lollapalooza Facebook sweepstakes that sent two fans to an all-expenses paid trip to the Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago with three-day passes to Lollapalooza. Throughout the Lollapalooza music festival, Clearasil hosted the "Rock Your Skin: Vibe + Revive Lounge" for celebrities, music industry VIPs and media.

NEW YORK — After seasons of sparkle nails, Violent Lips is putting the trend front and center with Glitteratti temporary lip tattoos.

Available exclusively at Sephora in five shades — red, pink, gold, silver and blue — each Glitteratti temporary lip tattoo offers sparkles that promise to stay put.

Violent Lips temporary lip tattoos are FDA-approved, vegan skin-safe transfers, tested on supermodels, not animals, and made in America, the company stated.

How it works: Shape, size and apply the Glitteratti Lips Appliqués with the mouth open wide to the “Oh” shape. Use plenty of water when applying and wet the lips after they are on to seal and smooth. The base of the Glitteratti line is clear so each color will have a slight variation when applied brought forth by the natural lip color. The patent-pending appliqué can be removed with mineral or baby oil and a textured wipe.


A set of three is priced at $15.95.

Triple Double Oreo officially makes debut

EAST HANOVER, N.J. — After news spread that the Triple Double Oreo was coming to store shelves nationwide, Oreo officially has launched its latest creation.

Triple Double Oreo, a sandwich cookie that features three pieces of chocolate wafers that are separated by chocolate and vanilla cream, is available nationwide at grocery stores for a suggested retail price of $4.19 per package. One serving (or one cookie) is 100 calories and touts a total of 4.5-g of fat.

"Our fans’ passion and enthusiasm has challenged us to raise our game," Kraft Foods associate director of consumer engagement Jessica Robinson said. "With the Triple Double Oreo cookie, we set out to take OREO to another level by adding a new twist. We are looking forward to engaging with Oreo fans as they share their twisting, licking and dunking moments with the new Triple Double Oreo cookie."
