Cirrus Healthcare launches line of Hello Kitty antimicrobial earplugs
COLD SPRING HARBOR, N.Y. — Cirrus Healthcare Products earlier this month announced the launch of its Hello Kitty-licensed earplugs for swimming and sound protection. The earplugs are individually printed with the cartoon characters encouraging young children to wear ear protection while swimming.
The Hello Kitty ultra soft earplugs employs the same technology as the antimicrobial earplug BioEars — soft silicone earplugs which use ActivAloe. The earplugs are easily molded to the shape of your ear providing an airtight seal, resulting in ears being protected from water penetration and harsh noise.
Hello Kitty earplugs come in packs of three and six in a waterproof carry case, with a suggested retail price of $3.99 and $5.49, respectively.
Cirrus over the next 12 months will be releasing an additional 10 uniquely-printed themed ear care products, the company said.
Boehringer Ingelheim launches Dulcolax for women
RIDGEFIELD, Conn. — Boehringer Ingelheim last week announced the launch of Dulcolax Laxative Tablets for Women — tablets that are "comfort-coated" to protect a woman’s stomach so the active ingredient, bisacodyl, is released only in the large intestine — to correspond with National Women’s Health Week.
According to a new national survey sponsored BI, constipation ranks as one of the top women’s health issues that women are least likely to discuss. “National Women’s Health Week is the perfect opportunity for women to take charge of their health needs, including that unmentionable ‘c-word’ — constipation,” stated Jennifer Wider, medical adviser for Cosmopolitan magazine and the Society for Women’s Health Research. “Women are significantly more likely to suffer from constipation than men, but preventing and treating constipation is almost always simple if you address it like any other health problem.”
Additional national constipation survey findings show that:
Constipation and sex are statistically tied as the most uncomfortable topics for women to discuss (29% and 30%, respectively);
37% of women say they don’t talk about constipation with anyone;
34% of women confide in other women, compared to only 25% who confide in men; and
Only fertility (53%) and fibromyalgia (44%) rank higher than constipation (41%) for the least heard about or talked about women’s health issue.
Dulcolax for Women is available in 25-count packs at local retailers nationwide. Women who are pregnant or breast-feeding should always ask their healthcare provider before taking Dulcolax Laxative Tablets. Recent clinical research that studied 10 mg of Dulcolax (two tablets) showed that bisacodyl is not excreted in breastmilk, the company said.
