Celestial Seasonings introduces teas to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month

BOULDER, Colo. Celestial Seasonings teas has announced the release of two new specialty green teas in designer boxes to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Cranberry pomegranate and tropical grapefruit green tea varieties are being released in boxes designed by artists Dagmar Fehlau and Heidi Kummli who are both breast cancer survivors, the company said. The new boxes are part of Celestial Seasonings’ ongoing support effort of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Both green tea flavors are available at U.S. grocery stores and natural foods markets. They retail for around $2.99 per 20-count box.

Pom releases ready-to-drink iced coffees

LOS ANGELES POM Wonderful, the maker of popular bottled pomegranate juice varieties, has launched a new line of iced coffee drinks that contain antioxidants and caffeine.

POMx iced coffee, currently available only in New York City retailers and Northeast and North Atlantic Whole Foods Markets locations, contain Italian-roasted Arabica coffee beans, milk from non-rBGH cows, organic sugar, and POMx health supplement (an all-natural, concentrated blend of polyphenol antioxidants derived from pomegranates). The POMx iced coffees come in two flavors: cafe au lait and chocolate.

Starbucks, Unilever partner on ice cream licensing deal

SEATTLE According to reports, Starbucks Corp. has announced that it has signed a deal with London, England-based food manufacturer Unilever for the marketing and distribution of Starbucks ice cream items. Starbucks and Unilever have been previously involved as distribution partners for Starbucks’ Tazo tea business.

According to Starbucks, Unilever has been hired on to develop ice cream products based on popular Starbucks coffee drinks. The British food manufacture is well-known for owning and distributing Breyers, Good Humor and Klondike ice cream brands internationally. Starbucks has been in the business of producing and marketing coffee-flavored ice creams for 12 years.

Details of the deal have not yet been released.
