California Natural dog food introduces new grain-free formula

FREMONT, Neb. — Natura Pet Products brand California Natural is rolling out a new grain-free dog food option, Pork Meal and Sweet Potatoes Formula, along with a new packaging design to highlight the brand’s philosophy of using limited ingredients.

The California Natural Grain Free family of products is designed with carefully selected ingredients and consistent fat and fiber levels to ease sensitivities associated with diet transitions, enabling pet parents to feed more variety and rotate with confidence. The new California Natural Grain Free Pork Meal and Sweet Potatoes Formula joins five other grain-free dog food recipes that enable pet owners to provide their pet a range of protein sources, each with a unique profile of naturally occurring amino acids. Pork is a unique protein, and the combination of pork and sweet potato is a flavorful alternative for pets sensitive to more common ingredients such as chicken or grains.

The new packaging is a modern design and provides additional information related to the number of key ingredients, feeding guidelines and nutritional purposes of its products, the company stated. All baseline formulas have eight or less key ingredients, which are easily recognized by icons displayed on the packaging.

The new packaging and grain-free option hit store shelves in August.

Derma e hires Western, Northeast regional sales managers

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. — Natural skin care brand derma e has announced the expansion of its external sales team with two new hires.

Stephanie Fletcher has joined as Western regional sales manager, and Heather Dans has joined as Northeast regional sales manager.

Fletcher possesses 13 years of experience in beauty sales and education, having worked for various prestige and natural brands such as Dior, Clinique, Jurlique and, most recently, MyChelle Dermaceuticals.

Dans comes to derma e with more than 20 years of sales experience including over six years in the natural beauty industry. Her career includes escalating management roles at companies such as IBM and Aramark. Heather most recently worked as an independent consultant to emerging natural brands Gabriel Cosmetics and The Jane Carter Solution.

CoverGirl spokeswoman Queen Latifah reigns as Pantene’s newest brand ambassador

CINCINNATI — Current CoverGirl spokeswoman Queen Latifah is now the new face of Pantene and will support the Truly Relaxed and Truly Natural collections, Procter & Gamble has announced.

“Queen Latifah not only exudes inner and outer beauty, but she is a brilliant business woman who shines in every aspect of her work,” stated Kevin Crociata, marketing director of North American hair care at P&G. “We believe her strong, playful personality and passion for life resonates with women. Her honest and approachable attitude makes her a perfect addition to the Pantene family. Women really listen to her, her opinion matters.”

Latifah will appear in the brand’s marketing campaign, including TV and print advertising, in-store displays, digital, social media and public relations campaigns, beginning in September.

Known for her talents as an actress, producer, rapper and comedian, she also has her own cosmetic line with CoverGirl, the Queen Collection, and is set to debut her new talk show, “The Queen Latifah Show,” in September.
