Brainy Baby line to include FlashCars
UWANEE, Ga. — The Brainy Brands Co. has introduced a new line of wooden toys for its Brainy Baby line.
Brainy Baby FlashCars will consist of wooden toys in the form of vehicles, including a school bus, fire truck, airplane and recycle truck, accompanied by flashcards that will cover a specific subject, such as letters, numbers, shapes and colors, and animals. FlashCars are set to hit the market in fourth quarter 2011, Brainy Brands said.
Brainy Brands said it expects to introduce other series of wooden toys in the future.
Genentech files for approval of skin cancer drug
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Genentech has applied for Food and Drug Administration approval of a drug for treating skin cancer, the drug maker said Monday.
Genentech, the U.S. division of Swiss drug maker Roche, submitted a new drug application to the FDA for vismodegib for the treatment of basal cell carcinoma. BCC generally is curable through surgery, but if it advances, can cause disfigurement and debilitating effects and, in the long term, can be life-threatening.
"We are excited by the pivotal study results that showed vismodegib substantially reduced tumor size or healed lesions for people with this rare skin cancer, which has no approved treatments," Genentech chief medical officer and head of global product development Hal Barron said. "We look forward to continuing our discussions with the FDA about these data."
Report: Marsh to spend $60 million for new stores, remodels
INDIANAPOLIS — A Midwest supermarket retailer will spend $60 million to build up to 10 stores and remodel or rebuild several more over the next three years, according to published reports.
Marsh Supermarkets’ new stores will average 40,000 sq. ft. to 60,000 sq. ft., with a strong focus on fresh fruits and vegetables and service-oriented components, according to the Indianapolis Business Journal.
Marsh operates 72 Marsh Supermarkets, 3 O’Malia’s Food Markets and 22 MainStreet Market stores in Indiana and Ohio.
