Bare Escentuals adds member to board

SAN FRANCISCO Bare Escentuals has appointed Michael Egeck as an independent member of its board of directors. With Egeck’s appointment, the board now consists of 10 directors.

Egeck spent more than seven years at VF Corp., a lifestyle apparel company.

Most recently, he served as president of VF Contemporary Brands, which included the 7 For All Mankind, Splendid, Ella Moss, Lucy Activewear, and John Varvatos brands. He was previously CEO of 7 For All Mankind LLC, prior to its sale to VF Corp. His prior roles at VF Corp. included president of VF Outdoor, which included The North Face, Reef, Vans and Jansport brands.

“Michael is another great addition to our board,” stated Leslie Blodgett, CEO. “His experience with developing and managing multiple retail brands will be an asset to our organization.”

Murad exec appointed to ICMAD board

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. The Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors, a trade association representing roughly 700 independent industry organizations, has appointed Jeff Murad of Murad Inc. to its board of directors.

Murad, VP of product development for Murad Inc., will serve on the board for the 2009/2010 term.

“It’s a great honor to be given the opportunity to play a leadership role with an organization that has been so meaningful to our industry,” stated Murad. “As a member of ICMAD’s board of directors, I will be able to interface with other companies, monitor trends and share best practice recommendations with those that need it.
