Abbott introduces PediaSure SideKicks Clear for mom’s picky eaters

ABBOTT PARK, Ill. — Abbott on Wednesday launched PediaSure SideKicks Clear, a clear nutritional beverage that helps balance out the diet of picky eaters who may be missing nutrients. Moms also can have peace of mind knowing that their picky eaters are receiving a source of protein and 19 vitamins and minerals, the company said.

In addition to new flavors berry and tropical fruit, one 6.8-fl.-oz. serving of PediaSure SideKicks Clear provides as much protein as one large egg, as much vitamin D as a 6-oz. yogurt cup and as much vitamin A as a half cup of zucchini. The beverages contain 120 calories and represents a nutritious option for children who don’t drink milk or require a gluten-free diet.

According to Abbott consumer research, two-thirds of moms surveyed reported having a picky eater at home, and 9-out-of-10 of these moms said they are unsuccessful at getting their picky eater to eat healthy and nutritious foods every day.

Fuse Science expands distribution for topical energy product

MIAMI LAKES, Fla. — Fuse Science on Tuesday announced that it has picked up distribution for its EnerJel product — a topical energy product targeting fitness fanatics — to 200 south Florida pharmacies through a partnership with GAT Trading.

Last month, Fuse Science announced nationwide distribution through GNC beginning in June. GNC will be the first retail outlet to carry EnerJel in a designed plan to build the brand, the company stated. "The fast-growing and loyal consumer of GNC matches the new and heavy user profile identified in our soft launch of EnerJel," stated Rubin Hanan, Fuse Science president and COO. "GNC will be the first to aggressively bring the brand to market at retail."

Summer Soles launches five additions to its Softness of Suede insole products

FRISCO, Texas — Summer Soles on Monday announced the launch of five additions to its collection of Softness of Suede insoles that help women keep their feet feeling dry and comfortable during the summer months.

"In summer, all feet sweat, even if you’re wearing thongs, sandals or open toed shoes," Summer Soles founder Shannon McLinden said. "These gorgeous and brightly patterned prints keep feet dry for under $10. What’s great about these liners is that they are very thin, easy to use and removable."

Citing statistics from the International Hyperhidrosis Society, plantar hyperhidrosis (a.k.a. the "sweaty feet" condition), impacts nearly 8 million people, or 3% of the U.S. population.

The five new Softness of Suede prints retail for a suggested $8 for 1 pair, or 3 pairs for $21. The insoles are made of 100% polyester micro suede fibers for the look and feel of real suede. The insoles are designed to help absorb foot perspiration, inhibit bacterial growth and reduce odor.
