Ahold Delhaize, Instacart expand partnership with virtual convenience storefronts

The two companies launched virtual convenience storefronts across Ahold Delhaize’s Hannaford, Giant, Stop & Shop, Food Lion and Martin’s banners.

Ahold Delhaize is deepening its partnership with Instacart.

The two companies have worked together on the creation of a virtual convenience storefront across Ahold Delhaize’s Hannaford, Giant, Stop & Shop, Food Lion, Giant Food and Martin’s banners.

New virtual storefronts now available at more than 1,400 locations includes Food Lion Now, Giant Instant Delivery, Hannaford Now, Stop & Shop Express, Giant Food Convenience and Martin’s Instant Delivery.

“We’re proud to launch convenience delivery in partnership with Ahold Delhaize USA to offer a streamlined way for customers to get the last-minute items they need, fast,” Chris Rogers, vice president of retail at Instacart said. “Our convenience business has more than doubled since June due to customer demand, and our expanded partnership with Ahold Delhaize USA allows Hannaford, Giant, Stop & Shop, Food Lion, Giant Food and Martin’s customers to access both delivery speed and selection from their favorite grocer. We look forward to continuing to find new ways to make the online grocery experience effortless, accessible, and affordable for customers in deep partnership with retailers.”

Available to customers on Instacart’s Convenience Hub, Ahold Delhaize shoppers will have access to nearly every banner’s grocery catalog, and be eligible for delivery in as fast as 30 minutes, the companies said. 

Ahold Delhaize and Instacart first partnered back in 2019 and expanded their partnership in 2020 to include alcohol delivery and pickup.
