Dave Berman, 98, an SVP and partner in May's Drug and Drug Warehouse until his retirement, passed away peacefully on Feb. 25, according to an obit published by Tulsa World Sunday. "Through his entire life, Dave was always extra sensitive to the plight of others less fortunate than him and enjoyed spending time with them," Tulsa World wrote. "He enjoyed the company of his peers in the drug store industry, many of them Fortune 500 senior executives." (Tulsa World)

Twenty years ago this month, I put on what was then my “lucky” tie, this horrible, neon yellow number from Banana Republic — it wore more like a bad Hawaiian shirt than a tie — and I started a new job as senior editor for OTCs and natural health at Drug Store News. Sure, I have a lot less hair today than I did then, but I also have much better taste in ties.
