The parent company of the Stop & Shop, Giant-Carlisle and Giant-Landover supermarket chains is donating $9 million over three years to alleviate child hunger.
Giant Food this week said that over the course of 2010, the supermarket chain donated more than 2.4 million lbs. of food to local hunger-relief organizations.
A supermarket chain, part of the Supervalu family of grocery stores, teamed up with the charitable arm of a professional football team to donate funds to end hunger in the area.
