According to a survey released by Identigene last week, more than half of adults with paternity questions have resolved to address their question in 2012. Men with paternity questions are twice as likely (51%) than women (25%) to address paternity in 2012.
More and more, there is a new niche being carved out of the take-home test kits being offered through pharmacy. It used to be only pregnancy and ovulation test kits that were available in that space. Now there is a plethora of offerings, including tests for drug abuse, screenings for such conditions as high cholesterol, paternity tests and tests for sexually transmitted diseases.
In coordination with STD Awareness Month, Identigene last week announced the two winners of the company’s “Talk About STDs” online video contest, each of which received cash prizes of $5,000 and $2,500, respectively.
