The beer category wants its mojo back. After losing share to wine, spirits and small breweries for several years, major brewers are out to win consumers back to the category with new products that are a big departure from their classic offerings.
The drug store channel has had strong sales in the beer category despite lackluster industry performance. Dollar sales for the beer category in drug were up nearly 6% for the year to date ended Oct. 30, 2011, according to SymphonyIRI Group data.
Harris Teeter and MillerCoors on Tuesday announced that the companies jointly will host Operation Homefront Thanksgiving Feast for Military Families on Nov. 22.
