More than 20,000 RxAlly member pharmacies — including independent pharmacies, regional chains and Walgreens — will begin accepting a new federally qualified Medicare Prescription Drug Plan, SmartD Rx, beginning Jan. 1, 2013.
RxAlly on Wednesday announced the launch of the first-of-its-kind alliance of more than 20,000 pharmacies nationwide, united to help patients achieve better health through personalized pharmacist care while reducing costs.
Independent pharmacy has been slammed hard by the continuing slide in prescription-dispensing profits, a dismal economy and powerful chain store competitors. But with their strong ties to local communities and the patients they serve, most are weathering the storm and may emerge stronger than ever.
