Humberto Martinez named Florida Pharmacy Association's presidentMIAMI

Navarro Discount Pharmacies' Humberto Martinez has been named president of the Florida Pharmacy Association, the drug store chain said. Martinez has been a member of FPA -- which supports research, education and other activities that improve public health and the quality of life through the profession of pharmacy -- since 1991. A seasoned executive with more than 33 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Martinez has been a pharmacist with Navarro since 2007. He is licensed as a technical specialist in pharmacy from the Florida Department of Health and is certified as a first responder for the Florida Division of Emergency Management. “Dr. Martinez has made numerous contributions to Florida’s pharmaceutical industry over the years,” said Steve Kaczynski, Navarro Discount Pharmacies CEO. “As a locally owned company, we are especially proud of his achievements and his individual efforts to promote best practices within the pharmacy profession.” |

The U.S. subsidiary of India’s Sun Pharmaceutical Industries has appointed a new executive. Caraco Pharmaceutical Labs announced the appointment of G.P. Singh Sachdeva as COO. Sachdeva previously served as SVP business strategies since July 2007, serving as VP sales and marketing for four years before that. |

Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy has hired a consultant to its staff, the company said Tuesday. Diplomat announced that it hired Steven Miesowicz as senior director of human resources and government relations, reporting directly to SVP operations Jeff Rowe. Miesowicz previously served as Diplomat's business management consultant and helped secure the Michigan Economic Growth Authority tax credit that the company received from the state government. “With Diplomat’s projected growth of hiring [more than] 1,000 employees in the next five years, Steven’s broad-based experience and communication skills will be instrumental to help Diplomat successfully reach its milestones of the company’s business plan,” Rowe said. |
