Dr. Scholl's gives women a shoe break with Fast Flats

WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. (Aug. 24) Merck Consumer Care on Tuesday announced the launch of Dr. Scholl's For Her Fast Flats, representing a practical solution for women who need a break from their uncomfortable shoes.

Fast Flats are compact and foldable shoes that fit discreetly in a purse and come with a wristlet for easy storage and portability.
A recent survey conducted by Dr. Scholl's For Her found that 70% of women admitted taking their shoes off after a night out because they were so uncomfortable. And 80% of women surveyed said that when their feet hurt, it affected their mood.

"While women love their stylish shoes, many feel they have to sacrifice comfort to wear them for an entire day or night," stated Jay Morgan, VP research and development for Dr. Scholl's. "We know that's not the case, and we wanted to give women a great solution for their feet. Fast Flats are fashionable and affordable, enabling women to be prepared for the many scenarios they face throughout the day without having to worry about shoe discomfort."

Fast Flats are available in women's sizes 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10 at a suggested retail price of $9.99.

New shelves allow office workers to eat at their desks with ease

POOLE, England (Aug. 20) A Korean office furniture designer has created a shelf that fits above computer keyboards to protect them from crumbs and coffee.

Kong Duck-young, a designer from office furniture manufacturer Steelcase, created the shelf as a resting place for food and drinks for office workers who opt to eat breakfast and lunch and drink coffee at their desks.

The shelves currently are sold at U.K.-based BT Office Furniture.

New Trojan 2GO provides discretion and protection

PRINCETON, N.J. (Sept. 23) Bringing a new dimension to the way people can buy and carry condoms, the makers of Trojan brand condoms recently introduced Trojan 2GO, a new condom two-pack in a thin, protective and discreet plastic case.

The new product, which is designed to stand-up to purses, pockets and backpacks, will be sold at the checkout counters of many food, drug and convenience retail locations, making Trojan 2GO both easy to carry and easy to purchase. The Trojan 2GO case can also be snapped into two halves for people planning to use only one condom, or if they want to give one to a friend. It's available in Her Pleasure Thinand Ultra Thin varieties.

"One of the main reasons people give for not using a condom is they didn't have one with them," said Jim Daniels, VP marketing for Trojan brand condoms. "The idea behind Trojan 2GO was to create a condom that was at once supremely portable and also easy to purchase. With this new innovation we can help men and women be better prepared anytime, anywhere."

To help raise awareness, Trojan 2GO is appearing in rock band Cobra Starship's latest music video, "Good Girls Go Bad," which features actress Leighton Meester. It's shown in a scene where two women in a speakeasy purchase the condoms before walking through the freezer and ending up at a secret party.

In addition to appearing in the MTV Music Award nominated video, Cobra Starship is endorsing the product's launch with exclusive VIP-only concerts in San Francisco and Chicago. Previously, the band and Trojan 2GO held performances in Los Angeles and New York.
