Matrix Laboratories Ltd., a subsidiary of Mylan Inc., has received U.S. Food and Drug
Administration approval for Stavudine Capsules USP in 15 mg., 20 mg., 30 mg. and 40 mg. strengths.
Indicated for treatment of HIV-1 infection in combination with other antiretroviral agents,
Stavudine Capsules are a generic version of Bristol-Myers Squibb's Zerit Capsules, which had annual
U.S. sales of about $54 million for the 12 months ending Sept. 30, 2008 in strengths equivalent to
the Matrix Laboratories introduction, according to IMS Health data. The new product has been shipped
under the Mylan Pharmaceutical Inc. label.
