CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Harris Teeter on Wednesday announced that veterans and active duty military who shop at any Harris Teeter location on Nov. 11 will receive an 11% discount, with their veterans identification card, after all coupons and discounts are deducted.
"The company understands the major sacrifices military members and their family members make and the subsequent impact those sacrifices have on the community. That is why Harris Teeter has shown support for military service members and their family members over the years," the company stated.
This promotion is one of many initiatives the retailer has done on behalf of both current and veteran military members. Back in May, Harris Teeter sold $1 and $7 donation cards in each of its stores to raise money to purchase Smiles Over Miles account cards that were placed at participating United Service Organizations centers for use by U.S. military men and women. Harris Teeter also has been raising both awareness and money for Wounded Warrior Project since Aug. 2; a donation announcement will be made Dec. 2 at the “Acosta Believe in Heroes Tribute” in New York. On Nov. 22, Harris Teeter and MillerCoors also are hosting the second annual Operation Homefront Thanksgiving Feast, which will provide 400 military families at the Washington, D.C. National Guard Armory with traditional holiday dinners.
