SACRAMENTO, Calif. A pharmacy organization heralded a federal court decision Wednesday to halt cuts to California’s state Medicaid program.
The California Pharmacists Association welcomed the decision by federal judge Christina Snyder in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles to issue an injunction to stop reductions in pharmacy reimbursements under the Medi-Cal program. The cuts, included in last year’s state budget, would have reduced Medicaid beneficiaries’ access to medications, the organization said.
“We obviously are very pleased with the ruling from judge Snyder,” CPhA CEO Lynn Rolston said. “We recognize the serious and ongoing problems facing the state as it tries to balance its state budget.”
