Health Mart hosted its Annual Meeting on July 14, boasting the largest attendance in the franchise network’s history. The meeting built upon last year’s momentum around the Health Mart Pathway that helps independent pharmacy retailers to invest in quality measures and empowers them toward better clinical performance and profitability.
McKesson ideaShare 2017
At McKesson ideaShare 2017, McKesson RxOwnership launched the inaugural Women in Pharmacy Own It Program. The event featured a morning get-together over coffee; a group of successful female Health Mart owners also participated in the panel and networking session that followed.
McKesson ideaShare 2017 featured more than 30 continuing education courses with topics ranging from installing an expanded service offering like med sync or immunizations, to the how-tos in building a stronger front-end business, empowering pharmacy technicians in your practice or learning more about pain points such as DIR fees.
To help attendees get the most out of the conference, McKesson created a mobile app that helped match customer interests with McKesson and Health Mart content and solutions. The app also gave attendees the ability to conduct an assessment of where their pharmacy was in terms of clinical and financial performance, and set goals based on what matters most to their business. Nearly 2,000 attendees downloaded the McKesson ideaShare app, and nearly 1,000 completed the Roadmap Assessment prior to the meeting.
McKesson ideaShare 2017, an interactive forum for independent pharmacists from across the United States, broke attendance records with the number of independent pharmacists and owners on hand to learn about how McKesson, hand in hand with its Health Mart franchise team, can help independents become a preferred destination for patient care.
The annual conference and exhibition is set to offer attendees access to industry thought leadership, pharmacy programs, continuing education courses and networking opportunities to help improve their pharmacies’ performance.
This year's McKesson ideaShare features more than 900 first-time attendees. DSN caught up with first-time attendees Jan Scott, owner of Nicholls Pharmacy in Nicholls, Ga., and Yunus Wasel of Greater Care Pharmacy in Warren, Mich., to ask why they decided to attend McKesson ideaShare this year and what they expect to get out of the meeting.
For more than 30 years, McKesson ideaShare has focused on giving independent pharmacists and owners the knowledge, tools and resources they need to improve their pharmacy’s performance. This year’s conference comes with a warning label.
Many features of the myHealthMart online portal that have been helping Health Mart pharmacists and owners better manage their pharmacy business over the past year have been incorporated into a new mobile app that will be launched at the 2017 McKesson ideaShare meeting.
Visiting New Orleans wasn’t the biggest driver of attendance for those registered for McKesson ideaShare 2017 — McKesson knows because it asked. In an effort to better align this year’s program and educational offerings with what its customers’ need, McKesson asked those planning to attend the conference about the biggest draws.
