Among supermarket rankings, Wegmans was the only supermarket that improved its score between 2015 and 2016, with a gain of one point, while whole foods dropped 10 points, Albertsons dropped 9 points, and Hannaford and Trader Joe’s both dropped eight points.

Forbes recently reported on CVS Health’s efforts to curb opioid abuse, highlighting its push to provide naloxone — the drug that reverses an opioid overdose — without a prescription through its pharmacies in 20 states by the end of the year, with plans to do so in all 50 states. The magazine spoke to CVS Health VP professional services Tom Davis about the efforts, and Davis notes that “when dispensing naloxone, our pharmacists counsel patients and caregivers on a number of important points including: identifying an overdose, the importance of calling 911, giving rescue breaths, administering naloxone and remaining with the patient until help arrives.” (Forbes)

Rosenstein’s board service was set to end once JANA Partners, where Rosenstein is managing partner, reduced its investment in Walgreens below a certain threshold, which happened this week, though it still holds a significant stake in Walgreens.

Meijer opened two of its planned nine new and 32 remodeled stores in 2016 across the Michigan-based retailer's six-state footprint. According to MLive.com, the new 192,000 square-foot supercenters in Evansville, Ind. and Owensboro, Ky., are built to Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design standards and will be open 24 hours a day.
